Writer and amateur photog. I seek to inspire and inform with the words I write and share and the photos I take. I have written a book of short stories: Terra Cotta Beauty, and I am working on a lot more. Reading and writing fuel my energy. In reading, I explore this vast and diverse world, in writing, I employ my over-active imagination and address the 'what-if' questions that life often throws at us.

Argentina! Argentina!! Argentina!!!

So from the very start of the 2014 World Cup, I had said that I wanted Argentina to win. There were not many reasons behind my choice – for starters, I would like the World Cup to stay in Latin America and not go back to Europe. I am not a soccer strategist by any stretch of the imagination, my reasons are purely sentimental. So, I am pleased as punch that they made it to the final. Goalkeeper Sergio Romero saved two penalties to send my favorite World Cup team to where I would like them to be – playing against Germany this Sunday (July 13) at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. This is the fifth final for Argentina – the first in 24 years. The country won the World Cup title in 1978 and 1986 and could will win it again in 2014.

My first blog article was titled One World Cup, written during the 2006 World Cup. This is the third World Cup, I will be writing about on the blog, but I still have fond memories of reaching out and testing the waters. It continues to be an amazing writing journey on Blogger.
