Writer and amateur photog. I seek to inspire and inform with the words I write and share and the photos I take. I have written a book of short stories: Terra Cotta Beauty, and I am working on a lot more. Reading and writing fuel my energy. In reading, I explore this vast and diverse world, in writing, I employ my over-active imagination and address the 'what-if' questions that life often throws at us.

Carolling Through the Season

By on December 14, 2012

Christmas remains my favorite season not just for the ambiance and the gift giving but mostly because one is officially allowed to sing carols. Interesting to discover that there is actually a government department in Austria – the only one of its kind – that looks after holiday songs. It helps those people that have a favorite carol from childhood but cannot remember all the words. Located in the scenic city of Graz, the department has a catalog of over 50,000 songs from all over the world and as well as a handy help desk to help people: all you have to do is call in and hum a tune
