Jola Naibi

Writer and amateur photog. I seek to inspire and inform with the words I write and share and the photos I take. I have written a book of short stories: Terra Cotta Beauty, and I am working on a lot more. Reading and writing fuel my energy. In reading, I explore this vast and diverse world, in writing, I employ my over-active imagination and address the 'what-if' questions that life often throws at us.

May I recommend…

By on November 3, 2006

I am starting a new section in the blog, called May I recommend from time to time, I will pop by and recommend a few things that I find useful and I think readers should possibly explore or take a look at.

Today…may I recommend freecycle.org. For those of us, who get into the habit of accumulating things and after a short while find it difficult to get read of the stuff that we have accumulated, yes, there is always the Salvation Army or whatever charity takes these things off your hands. Those are all good.

I recommend freecycle.org to those who –

  1. Use the computer/internet quite frequently
  2. Accumulate tons of stuff that they find they don’t need – you can post for what you don’t need anymore
  3. Still want to accumulate odds and ends and are looking for fellow accumulators who want to get read of their stuff – you can post for what you need

It is grouped into communities depending on where you live (it is not just US-based but international). I read in a magazine that it was started by a gentleman who worked in a recycling plant and was disgusted with the sheer amount of waste that people indulged in as they tried to get rid of things that have been accumulated. So check it out, if you haven’t already, something tells me you’ll be glad you did
